Abstract：【Objective】The aim of this paper was to explore the spatial differentiation and formation mechanism of agricultural location advantages in Guangxi， and to provide reference for the development of agriculture regionalization and policy making in Guangxi. 【Method】Location quotient was used to calculate the agricultural location advantages of 14 prefecture level cities in Guangxi. The formation mechanism of location quotient of regions with different advantage levels was studied by fixed effect model. 【Result】The overall spatial differentiation of agricultural location in Guangxi was severe， and the formation mechanism of regions with different advantage levels was different. Realizing scale development of agricultural production and technical service was the key to accelerate the process of modern large-scale agriculture. Lack of financial support for agriculture， low education level and low level of mechanization of agriculture might become bottlenecks for Guangxi modern agriculture scale development. 【Suggestion】Following suggestions are proposed to realize the rational allocation of agriculture and sound development in Guangxi： strengthening the overall planning and layout， promoting industrial agglomeration and improving industry spillover effect； optimizing traffic and infrastructure based on local conditions； improving the agricultural technology service system and breaking through the limitation of large-scale production； promoting the efficiency of financial support for agriculture and improving farmers’ scientific knowledge.
